Sunny ,Warm Florida Right???

We are still waiting for the warm weather to arrive. Watching the news and weather daily really can depress you. We came to Florida to escape the cold and knowing what has happened this year in the north, I guess we have no right to complain. But the marina we are in has a lovely pool that has been empty since we arrived. Our bikes are still stowed in the V-berth because with the wind and cold, forget it!!!!!!

All has not been negative. We have been having lots of fun. A few days before we left Ft. Lauderdale we had our good friends Stu and Barbara Rogan aboard. Spent 2 days with them and had fun. Had a lovely dinner with Kathy and Craig Briggs, have plans to dine with the Levines and Sheila Pollack. Saw 2 great movies. (The Reader & Gran Torino) both awesome. It is great because the shopping and the theaters are within walking distance of the Summer Wind, but because of the cold and the wind we drove over.

We enjoy many activities to keep us occupied, even in the cold weather. One of the many things we enjoy are snuggling and reading aloud. We're in the middle of a great book by Sterling Hayden the actor/author called Wanderer an autobiography with a great story of adventure. Doing laundry is not one of Dick's favorite tasks, so out comes the book and time flies. Some day we hope to be playing duets on the Summer Wind both of us are now playing the flute. However, Elle discreetly plays if no one is around, not ready for the community to hear her practice the scales LOLOLOL. We have gone on many walks,(INDOORS)and take leisurely drives to take in the sights.

10 days from now we fly back to NJ for appointments and hopefully the weather will cooperate. After returning on Feb. 26 we will spend maybe 2-3 days here and then start another adventure. Since the Okechobee has enough water we will be traversing her and spending time on the west coast of Florida,culminating in a rendezvous with the MTOA in Punta Gorda. Really looking forward to that and also seeing some friends on that coast. After that rendezvous our journey will continue back across to the east coast and start north. That will be in the middle of April and probably arrive in NYC about the beginning of June.
