| Thunderbolt Marina |
APRIL 21, 2010 - Our anchorage in Big Tom Creek had been very quiet and relaxing. Only 2 sailboats shared our anchorage. Shortly after sunrise we weighed anchor again. Our destination today was Thunderbolt Marina in Savannah. Dick was hoping that in Savannah he could get a snap fixed for his windshield cover. The wind from the other day had literally blown the cover away from the window and tore off the snap. Well we tied up at the dock and Dick washed down the boat and Elle cleaned the interior. After anchoring out for a few days, the Summer Wind needed some TLC. We went on a walk to find a canvas repair place or the tool to put in a new snap. Our hunting was not very successful, the canvas place was "Very Busy" and didn't have the time to put in a snap, they needed a couple of days. Guess that 5 minutes couldn't be spared. The Hardware store didn't have the right tool in stock. So, unsuccessful we went back to the Summer Wind. When we returned to the boat we were delighted to find Diamond Girl pulling up just in front of us on the dock. We invited Bud and Elaine over to the Summer Wind to toast them on their 47th Wedding Anniversary! They were delighted and invited us out to dinner with them. That evening we had a fun evening at Tubby's Tank House. It's a unique restaraunt with rocking chairs on a big front porch and a playful atmosphere, not to forget great food!
